Who publishes this site and who pays for it

This site is published and funded by Vyarna OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (registry code 16524426) that sells a freeze-dried human milk complement intended for use alongside breastfeeding and infant formula. That is a commercial interest in the subject of this site, and every page carries a disclosure saying so.

We publish this site because the audience for our product — parents who are combining feeding methods — is badly served by the information available to them, which is mostly either brand marketing or advocacy for exclusive breastfeeding. We think an evidence-led, non-judgemental guide is useful in its own right. We also expect that some readers will go on to look at Vyarna. We do not hide either fact.

How we choose sources

Claims of fact on this site are cited inline to one of: a peer-reviewed study identified by DOI or PubMed ID; a guideline or statement from a national or international health body (WHO, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the US CDC and FDA, the UK NHS); or an official statistical series such as the CDC National Immunization Survey. We do not cite brand websites, news articles, blogs or social media as evidence. Where official guidance is silent on a question — for example, mixing milks in one bottle — we say so rather than filling the gap.

Where the evidence is thin, contested, or comes mainly from a setting different from the reader's (hospital and preterm studies, for example), we say that too.

How we handle our own research and product

Studies authored by Vyarna staff are cited with that fact stated at the citation. Pages that discuss freeze-dried milk, milk powder or donor milk — subjects in which Vyarna sells a product — carry an additional disclosure at the top, quote the FDA and AAP positions on donor milk verbatim, and state what Vyarna's process does and does not include. Vyarna's process has no validated pathogen-inactivation step; its safety model is provider screening and laboratory testing. We say this on every page where it is relevant because it is the question an informed reader should ask first.

We do not claim that our product replaces breastfeeding or formula, and we do not attribute health outcomes to it.

Authorship and review

Pages are written and maintained by the Vyarna Editorial Team. We do not attach individual bylines or clinical reviewer names, because we do not currently have a named independent clinical reviewer and will not present one we do not have. When that changes, the byline will change.

Dates

Every page shows a published date and an updated date. These are generated from the site's version-control history, not typed by hand. A page whose updated date is more than twelve months old is due for review.

Corrections

If you believe something on this site is wrong, tell us via the contact page with the page and the claim. We correct errors of fact on the page itself and note the correction at the bottom of the page.

It is general information. It is not medical advice for your baby, and it does not replace your paediatrician, midwife, health visitor or lactation consultant.
